Bulletins of The Serving Library is the new biannual publication from Dexter Sinister, which continues where the final issue of their previous house journal DOT DOT DOT left off. It will be published under the umbrella of their nascent Serving Library, a non-profit institution founded on a cooperatively-built archive that assembles itself by publishing. The pilot issue addresses the twin themes of Time generally and Libraries specifically, and includes texts by Angie Keefer, Rob Giampietro and David Reinfurt, and Bruce Sterling. Bulletins of The Serving Libraroy is a composite printed/electronic publication published by Dexter Sinister. Each of the twelve issues makes up a semester’s worth of material. riginal writings, reprints, and artist contributions on a variety of themes such as libraries, media, and time; education; typography; psychedelia; Germany; fashion; numbers; sports and games; and color. The Bulletins ran from 2011 to 2017. The “bulletins” that make up each issue will be first published online as PDFs at www.servinglibrary.org over a six-month period, then assembled, printed and distributed separately in Europe and in the U.S.A. (by Dexter Sinister). Each collection will constitute a semester’s worth of loosely-themed material. For this PILOT issue, we’ve posted PDFs, bound and printed the publication over the first six months of 2011 in advance of launching.
