"Sportification" is a stunt-book, a performative publication composed of Euro-texts, a living archive of 400 artistic performances and 250 playgrounds staged from 1965 to 1999 in various European cities during the heyday of the famous TV game show "Jeux Sans Frontières." With a playful artistic approach, the authors tested many playing fields. The three sections of investigation, Eurovision, Performativity, and Playgrounds, organize the contents and contributions of a long-term research. This unique comparative system between art and play establishes a new inter-media definition of European performance art, where artistic game actions, performance, and happenings interact with the subversive world of television.
