Franco Ariaudo (Cuneo, 1979) lives and works in Turin. He conducts a transdisciplinary research approach by juxtaposing rituals, sports, and leisure activities, with the idea of investigating, and at times destabilizing, those anthropological and social short circuits that give rise to a specific current of thought, the establishment of a tradition, or simply the expression of a common belief. His observation of the ordinary translates into challenging the paradoxes and contradictions that all cultures carry. In terms of form, Ariaudo uses various media that, through subtle perceptual shifts, tend to overturn the viewer's conventional perspective. Since 2015, he has been collaborating with COLLI Independent Art Gallery in Rome. Some of his exhibitions include: "Ecophilia" (Museo nazionale della montagna, Turin); "Faster than Christ" (COLLI Gallery, Rome); "Convulsion Ltd.: further thoughts from new associates" (Easward Prospectus Gallery, Bucharest); "The Pitcher" (COLLI Gallery, Rome); "Cubo Race" (CCA Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw); "The Big Piano Smash" (GAM, Turin), "Mirror Project #5" (Barriera, Turin); "Derby" (Kulturhauz’s New Urban Archeology, Torùn); "The Arena, The Imagination & The Body" (Khoj International Artist Association, New Delhi).
